SANOFI (DFI18231) Study
This study is investigating a new one-time gene therapy treatment (SAR446597) to slow the progression of Geographic Atrophy (GA) in patients diagnosed with dry macular degeneration.
Study Details:
The study is 2 years long with an optional additional follow up period of 3 years.
The study will require you to attend approximately 19 clinic visits over 104 weeks. This includes screening assessments, and follow-up visits after treatment has finished. Visits will range from 1 hour to 3 hours. At the visits we will check your medical history, conduct physical examinations, perform an ECGs, draw blood, and complete questionnaires. Participants will receive a one time gene therapy injection or sham injection at Day 1 and be followed for safety and data for 2 years (+/- optional 3 years).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Aged 60 years or older
- Diagnosed with Geographic Atrophy secondary to dry age-related macular degeneration.
- Vision: 6/60 or better
